Does anyone have any experience with the approval process of BCBS Federal Employee Program? I'd love to hear any stories either positive or negative.

Hi there. From my experience, they seem to cover bariatric surgery with ease. They are one of the better payers.

Hello, first off this is the insurance that I used; PERFECT!! I was approved in NO time. All that they require is for you to be 100 pounds over your ideal body weight and of legal age. I really put everything into motion back in April or May; my PCP wanted me to "humor" her so I did a sleep study and a glucose test for her.(which was NOT required by the insurance comp.) I can't remember the exact date of when I had everything together to turn into the insur. co., but it did take me about ten days to get my approval. ( I am guessing June 1st is when they got all of my info. because I called on the morning of June 12th and found out I was approved! I then made my appointment for WLS which was one month later. I am one of those pt's that have been back in the hospital twice and when the insur. co. sees that there is never a problem. Hope this helps you out, if you have any ?'s feel free to ask! Kim
