Any extra protein to get rid of?

Hey guys, I have posted this to the RNY board and the main board but I got yet another email today suggesting I also post to my home state board, so here goes: I am in a financial bind due to events that have happened in the last few days beyond my control. I was in the process of stocking up on protein for after surgery but now find myself unable to do this any longer. I'm even not sure if I can come to the Nashville get-together or not...anyway, my hubby works in a grocery store and does not bring home much money. We have an old house we are renting while we live with my parents to save money but yesterday we found out they are leaving and leaving us with a mess to fix and owing us money. I am even wondering if I can afford to go through with my surgery or not but I am not going to let anything stop me if I can help it. The reason I am posting this is because I always see people talk about how they can't stand certain proteins so it sits in their cabinets. I am the kind of person that can stand anything if I have to so I am asking if anyone out there has any protein they want to get rid of. I can pay postage but I just can't afford to buy it through the usual ways right now. Anything would help and I promise to do the same for others as soon as I am financially able. Thanks!

I've got some. I'll bring it to lunch on the 4th in case you can still make it. If not, we'll figure out some other way to get it to you. When is your surgery? I can probably bring it to the hospital. I really hope you can make it on the 4th though. Susan

Hey Kym remember this much, never wise to stock up on protein before surgery, what you may like now, you may hate after surgery. Your taste buds change a lot after sugery. You may find one after surgery that you like, but then a month later it makes you sick to your stomach. So a word of caution don't do too much stocking up until after surgery and just buy as you need it. I've had to start on them now since the cancer showed up. I found one at Rite-Aid pharmacy for $10.99 unflavored. One scoop is 22 grams. So why buy major expensitive ones that costs a lot, when you can go with an unflavored one to add to soups, sf jello, sf pudding, in your water, juice or what ever. I'm sorry to hear that you are left with the mess of the finances, but God will see you thru this. He's brought you this far, he'll see you all the way. Kathy
