Personal Girl Question - Do the boobs shrink?

Ok, so I am probably one of the few women who want their boobs to lose weight and shrink! I had surgery 4 months ago and have lost about 80 pounds. My bra size has shrunk but my cup size really hasn't yet. Will they eventually start to shrink or am I just forced to deal with this same size forever? What has everyone else experienced? Thanks Misty

Girl you are singing to the CHOIR!!!! I want and wish for the same thing but it is MY personal experience...mine decreased in size but not cup! All the years of dieting and yoyo'ing I never lost in cup size! I told my husband after i have my surgery in December and lose weight that my boobs woould be the next surgery! Maybe by the time I am 41 I will be comfortable in my own skin!

Hey Misty, my breasts have shrunk in size and in cup size according to my last mammogram in September, now I'm between a D and C cup but only about 40 around vs. 51 DDD before surgery. Each is different, But mine started losing after about 2 months, it's called chest of drawers. Finding a bra now is another matter. Like I said I'm in between sizes, so I stick to sports bras for now. Much more comfortable when you have COPD and leukemia on top of it all. Plus, I may not have to worry about having a breast life done, if they have to do a masectomy on both sides. Will find out on Monday for sure just how much they will have to remove when the biospies reports come back. Answer to your question, some lose, some just lose in size not the cup. The weight of mine prior to surgery was killing my back, now having a mammogram isn't so painful or feel like I need to scrap them off the floor like pancakes. Give it time, you most likely will lose in size as you lose weight, whether you lose in the cup size or not, is something you will find out when you go bra shopping or get ready to have that part reconstructive. Best of luck. Love ya Kathy

I haven't lost any in the cup either except for a 36DD being smaller than a 48DD. You may lose a bit of cup size as you get closer to goal. The up side is that insurance is more likely to pay for a breast reduction than they will a breast lift. Susan

Girl, I'm still a DD. I did go from a 44 to a 36. Considering I was really overflowing my DD before, I probably have lost a little in the cup but not a lot. The thing now is that I have to pick them up and put them in there. And when the bra comes off, it's "watch out below!!" I'd love to get them lifted but the insurance considers that purely cosmetic and won't pay.

Hey Misty, Congrats on the 80 loss! Way to go... as for the girls. .... well mine are in pathetic shape. I didn't really notice the sagging of anything until about my 5-6 month point which is about the point when i looked in the mirror and truly didn't recognize myself. I've gone from a 50D to a 42C.. I could probably do a 40 now but haven't bought anything new. I know there will have to be some surgery in that area when the time comes... I'm only 24 and I'm far from perky lol But I'm not worried about it now... I'm just focused on continuing to get healthy. Plastics are just the icing on the cake so to speak. April
