Calling all OH Newbies...especially from TN!

OKay, does anyone feel a little isolated other than me? I have only been a member for a little while and I feel so out of place amongst all the people who have "known" each other through OH for so long. So I am posting a shoutout to all you newbies like myself who would like some new friends. Anyone interested?

How far is Lawrenceburg from Nashville? I'm guessing it must be fairly close for you to be using Dr. Houston. Would you want to meet up with some of us for lunch this month? I think some of us from the Madison/Gallatin area are going to try to meet on a Saturday. Susan

I guess I'm new. Do you want an introduction? I'm Janie, married to Dean, mother to three boys and one girl ages 9,7,3, and 2. My husband is having RNY on 11/6/06 and I am having RNY on 12/11/06. I don't work but I am a full time student aspiring for my BSN. We live in East Tennessee about 30 miles west of Knoxville. Dr. Stephen Boyce is doing our surgeries at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. Hi Kim, I'm not a newbie, was one until 9 months ago. I'm always on this board sometimes just lurking other times posting. Get with Susan and have a great luncheon. I won't get to meet you on the luncheon day, I'm flying to Costa rica to be with the love of my life. But then next time I'm in the Portland area where my son lives, we can plan on getting together at that time. You will learn a fount of information just meeting others whether they have had surgery or not. Welcome to our board. The more you post the more people will get to know you. Kathy, I am originally from Red Boiling Springs and my grandmother lived in Westmoreland for a short time so I know exactly where your son is. I also used to visit Galatin regularly. I have been reading your profile and know what you are going through right now and my prayers are with you. Good Morning, I am new, lurked for months years ago..... New this October. Went to Seminar at Centennial Saturday, sent my paperwork in Midnight last night. Confirmed paperwork was there and made an appointment with Dr Houston before 9 this morning. My appoinment is Oct 25!!!!! I am self pay and could be banded in November YEAAAA! My bear is doing the happy dance.

Hey Guys, Welcome!!! I guess I have been here for a while now... I used to post more, I always read, but sometimes I am just lazy....lol. Anyways I am 5 and a half months post op, and doing great! Good luck to you all, all the hassle is worth it for this surgery, it is most certainly life changing!

Congratulations! My appt. is on November 1 with Dr. Houston. I have some relatives in Mt. Juliet but I couldn't tell you who...Bilbreys...but I'm not sure which ones. Good luck!
