Well you guys I have 16 days left and I am not scared yet I am a little excited, but for some reason since the days are coming closer I feel more and more tired like all this weight is waring me down. Did anyone else feel this way? It could be from this genetic disorder that I have gitting to me but I thought it could be my weight too. Maybe a combo of both but I have cut back working to 3 days a week now and I see my surgeon on wednessday. I think it will be such a releif to have this done. what should I expect for my first visit with the surgeon? well bye for now Shelly

Hi Shelly, who's your surgeon? I can't tell you what to expect, as each surgeon is different. I can keep you in my prayers for a successful surgeon, and a no complication recovery. You will do fine, May God travel with you on this new journey, Kathy

Shelly, I wish someone would have told me this preop just so I knew what to expect. When you meet with Dr. Richards, expect to see a nurse first, then a "fellow" (med student) or two....AND THEN Dr. Richards. From Dr. Richards, expect that he will look you in the eye and shake your hand. He will want you on the table to look at and feel your stomach. Then he will ask if you have any questions. He will give you ALL the time you need to answer questions. This is so rare in a physician, especially a surgeon...so take advantage of it. Then he will leave and nurses and fellows will come back to have you sign all the papers and get you set up for other appts. Good Luck Rachael
