Getting depressed
I'm getting very depressed and just wondering if anyone has gone through these feelings that I have. I'm waiting to hear word on my insurance approving me (or not) for surgery and it seems that it's just taking too long. They told me that it would take between 30-45 days and I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for an answer. Meanwhile my surgeon's office, never calls me, I feel like if I don't get this surgery I'm a ticking time bomb and I'm going to die and my health is simply awful. I'm so tired all the time and it seems like I never get enough rest. I just simply don't want to feel this way at all but at 318, my small frame can't pack on anymore weight and I don't know what to do.

Hi Alyssa, the majority on this board get depressed playing the waiting game. Don't wait for an insurance company to contact you, you start calling them about every other day and see what is going on with you files. Several have done this, and got approved. Otherwise, your file is sitting on someone's desk and just being ignred. By you calling, makes them aware of you and it makes them pull your file and get to working on it. That shows them you are serious about this surgery and that you want it as quick as possible. I wish the best life has to offer.
May God travel with you on this journey. Kathy
Thanks Kathy,
I have been calling...about once a week. I think what I'm most depressed about is the prospect of never getting the surgery and there being no hope for me. I can tell my heart isn't as healthy or doesn't feel healthy to me. I'm out of breath, and sweat profusely all the time. I would rather stay inside as opposed to see the real world rather than have people look at me having trouble making it around a grocery store or the mall.

Who is your surgeon and how long ago was your paperwork submitted? You say you are calling them about once a week, do they at least confirm that they have your paperwork? My insurance company said they never received the first set of papers. I had to have my surgeon's office resend the packet.
Hang in there. It will be well worth the wait.

Please do not let them get the best of you ,give it all you got!!! keep calling and ask lots of questions.. always ask to whom you are speaking to and write everythingdown then ask is there anyhing they might require so you can get going on it early also make sure they have all your info ... God Bless you and Good luck Arianna
Hey don't feel blue. Look at it this way God has a plan for you. If the sugery is meant to be it will be. But if it is not maybe it wont get approved because the Lord knows that your body couldn't handle it and you would be better off without it. I was scared we did not think that mine would get approved becasue we were about to change insurances so i prayed" Dear Lord if it is meant for me ot have this let it be your will and get approved and if not then I will do all I can to lose the weight with your help." I was so worried until i said that prayer that i threw up almost every night. now when we got the news about it being apporved I was a peace with the whole thing. So don't give up if it is meant to be it will be and if it is not just pray that God will help you find the right way to lose the weight. If you go at it alone then you will not succeed if you ask for help all things are possible. ( Have you tried swimming? it has no weight impact and you can do it alone and not feel weird. go to your local ymca and you can even get a note form your docotor so you can go for free. This is by far the best workout you can do i could not swim 2 laps when I first started but now i am up to 18 laps (1/4mile) i cant wait to be able ot go back but it will still be another week.
God Bless You,
Jamie
