Bowel movements is skipping a day ok?

I just had surgery 7 days ago I have lost 13lbs but have not been able to eat or drink very much at all. until yesterday I had great bowel movemnts (like 2-3 times a day) But since yesterday nothing and today nothing. is there anything I can take or should I wait? Thanks Jamie

Hi Jamie, shoot, that was the least of my worries, I didn't have one for almost two weeks. Because you are on liquids most of that comes out in the urine. If it continues to bother you, talk to your surgeon. See what he recommends. Best to you and congradulations. Always here, Kathy

Hi Jamie, Congratulations on your weightloss! 13lbs in 7 days is awesome. It is not uncommon for us to have only 3-4 bowel movements a week. Don't worry about it. If you feel constipated - like you have to go but you can't, then take a dose of milk of magnesia. Personally, for the longest time, I would only have my BMs on the weekends. It was the weirdest thing. I've only been severly constipated once and needed milk of magnesia. To avoid constipation, make sure your focusing on drinking as much water as possible. Good luck! April
