How long?
How long did you wait after your paperwork was turned into the insurance before you started harrassing them? My paperwork was submitted on Monday and the suspense is KILLING me! I'm not getting my hopes up at all. I am expecting the worst so i'm not crushed if things dont go my way. I keep wanting to call my insurance company and bug them but i'm not sure how soon is too soon? Anyone have any advice?
Hi Ms Me, don't you know the phrase "all good things come to those you wait"? I would wait another week, remember they have to put it in their system, and have their pow wows. I would start bugging them after next week. I know easier then said, but just keep busy with your mind and you'll be approved in know time at all. If not, then Toni Miller, Susan Jones, Melinda, and I will meet you for a lunch. The last time Toni, Susan, and myself met with Melinda, she hadn't heard anything from the insurance company. Two days later she got her approval. I know you will hear something soon. Just continue to think positive and trust God to handle this matter. Don't get upset if you get a denial. That just means that the insurance company may need something else. It's not uncommon to be denied the first round, and approved on the second round. You've come this far, don't give up or discouraged. I had 11 denials from 11 surgeons, then finding out I had Leukemia, I got very discouraged as the oncologist I was referred to would not recommend the surgery. I got a new oncologist who is very good, and agreed on the spot and faxed a letter the same day along with my blood work to Dr. Colquitt. He agreed to do the surgery as long as my blood counts were all in normal range. Last year there was 88 gastric surgeons in the state of TN. If necessary I would have kept with different Dr.'s to get this surgery. God lead me to Dr. Colquitt.
I even went out of state to see a surgeon. So if I can get approved and have surgery after 3 years, one year of research and seminars, then 2 years of being turned down, you can't imagine what I felt when he said he would do my surgery, I even had to ask him to repeat it because I wasn't sure I heard him correctly. There's always hope, patience, trust, and plenty of support going for you. So wait a week, then start calling.
I am off to
, as I have to get up early to go get fitted for a traction thingy for my neck. I can barely sit, laydown, walk, or stand without severe pain. I cracked my tailbone on Thursday and was in the ER from 8:30pm until 2am. I need my beauty rest or John will be giving me a lecture when I get to Costa Rica.
May God travel with you on this journey, with love and faith Kathy
