Question: Popcorn
It's best to check with your surgeon on the popcorn. I can eat it without any problems but I'm 18 mos out. As far as the vitamins, as long as they are not very big, you can get the kind you just swallow. Again, check with your surgeon, I'm not a medical professional in any way, shape or form. But no horse pills as they could get stuck in your stoma.
Hi Suzzie, I am 8 months out and I can eat a small serving of popcorn. As for the vitamins, my surgeon put me on pre-natal complete, which I will take the rest of my life. If you go with separate pills, don't take the iron with the calcium. Best of luck and congrads on the major weightloss. That's fantastic. kathy
yes.... as I found out lastnight. I feel so horrible about it. too! I'm 5 months out and I ate about a cup and a half of popcorn without even realizing it - of course it turns to mush when you chew it up but I just couldn't believe it! I'm doing all liquids today to compensate (protein liquids).
You will always have to chew your vitamins and crush your pills.

You will be able to eat popcorn again. You will just have to control your portion. Eventually we will be able to eat just about anything, always keeping in mind portion control.
As far as the vitamins -- NO you will not ALWAYS have to chew your vitamins or crush your pills. I have never crushed any of my meds. They gave me tablets in the hospital when I came off the pain pump.
Since I had braces put on 3 months after my surgery, I had to switch to a non-chewable calcium at that time. My surgeon and nut gave me the green light all the way. The only medication I have had to change is a caplet that had a base that did not dissolve in the body and was larger than an M&M. The pharmacist found a liquid medication that would deliver the desired result of the caplet.
You're doing great!
