Milk of Magnesia is what my surgeon recommends.

Hi Teresa, I don't have that problem, but I know drinking some apple juice, plenty of water and walking will also help move the bowels. Mine has been non stop for three days. There were times in the beginning, that I would just eat a small bite of beef or pork and guaranteed it worked. I hate milk of Mag. I throw it right back up, check with your surgeon, he may suggest a stool softner to get things moving. Wish you the best. Kathy

My surgeon recommends Ducolax stool softener. I've also had success with sugar free jelly beans, or really any "sugar free" item that is high (25+ gm) in sugar alcohols.
