Two months today

Are there any other 2 month losers out there? How much have you lost? What are you able to eat? I have lost 53 pounds but I cannot eat anything that is not pureed yet. Maybe because I had a stricture. Has anyone gone through any emotional rollercoasters? I had a moment when I thought I had ruined my life and then I had convinced myself that I was a person that would not lose weight with the surgery. I am better now though. Good luck to everyone.

Hi Marie, it's normal at first to be emotional and be on a rollercoaster of emotions. I still get them every so often. You will do find and from what you have lost, I would say you are doing fantastic. This surgery is a major shock to your system, and your emotions. That is great that you have come this far. I still see a therapist once or twice a month, this helps with the emotions when they are strong. Don't forget to get into an excercise program, that helps not only phsyically but mentally. Once you get into that, you will really start doing great, you'll feel toned and even though you may not always lose weight, you are getting rid of the fat and building muscles that you never knew you had. I haven't been able to work out since moving into my new apartment except to look at boxes, everytime I bend over to unpack one, I get really dizzy. It has something to do with the 2 bulging disks in my neck. But I am going to be back into physical therapy for my neck and I will be able to work out again when that happens. I just have to take it a little easier for now. But I still continue to lose but not as fast as the first 7 months. That is okay as I only have 35 more to go to my goal. You will do fine, and soon be off the pureed foods. I am sending you my best wishes that everything will be alright and that you will never have any regrets of having this surgery. You can do this, remember you didn't put the weight on over night, and it's not going to come off overnight. Losing the amount you have in 2 months is off to a great start. When was the last time you lost 53lbs in 60 days? Ask yourself that question when you are feeling down. Know we are all here for you, whether it's good new, great news, or you just want to vent or cry. We are here to support you no matter what. With love, and my prayers, Kathy

Kathy, you are always so encouraging and inspirational. I am going to find a therapist to talk too. I also thing it could be hormonal because my hormones and monthly have been doing weird things. You are right about the exercise too. I started walking the dog around the neighborhood about 2 weeks ago because she started having behavior problems. I had been off work for 2 months and my son had been home from college for the summer and she got really hyper and crazy when I went back to work and he went back to school. The Dog Whisperer said that a good long walk every day will calm a hyper dog down. She is so different now and I can already tell a difference in me. I was walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes but walking outside is already changing my legs and building up my stamina. I go to a large church and had to park far away yesterday. Normally there is a van to pick people up but it wasn't running for early service. I walked all the into church, in wedge heels, and I walked up the stairs to sit in the balcony. I felt fine. Just a little out of breath. Earlier this summer, I would have had my son drop me at the door. About your dizziness thing. I get dizzy everytime I bend over or even when I lay back in the shampoo bowl. Sometimes I get dizzy when I just stand up from sitting or laying down. That is new to me, but maybe it is normal. Again, thanks for the encouragement. Good luck getting everything unpacked. That is really a chore. You are in my prayers also and thanks for being such a wonderful person. Marie
