I have an issue...

So I went to the surgeons office for my one month cheack up and he told me that I should be able to get down at least 80 oz. of fluid no problem, but I can't & that I should be eating everyday & I can eat one thing...every other day & I was telling him this and so he scheduled me to have some tests done & I went and had an endoscope, I believe that is what it is, where they put the camera down my throat into my stomach, well they found an ulcer, so that is why I have not been able to get anything in the way that I should be getting things in. So today I have an app't. to go have some x-rays done and to see if there is anything else wrong, I doubt it because they found the ulcer. So I have been given some medication that is basically a laxitive, it will coat my stomach so that I will be able to eat & not get so sick afterwards. I hope that it works and that the ulcer goes away and I pray that it does NOT come back again. Having two small children & not being able to keep anything down is really draining for me right now. Kim, I am so sorry to hear this news. I hope you get to feeling better really soon. I have been very lucky so far. I still don't eat a lot, but I have no pain. Keep us posted as you go along. Again, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Sara.

Hi Kim, I am sorry you too are having to go thru this. I have had ulcers, and the chemo pills eats away my pouch lining. Hopefully the medicine will be able to help you. I found I can't take any medicine with water now, only with milk and that helped to settle my stomach. Someone else said the same thing. It coats the lining and makes it easier for pills to dissolve without causing them to eat up the pouch lining. I will keep you on my prayer list and know you are being watched over. Love Kathy

We have almost the same surgery date and looks like some of the same problems. I had the endoscope done on the 8th of August and my problem was that the opening had closed to the size of a straw so nothing could get out. I couldn't get in over a cup of fluid a day. They stretched it out during the test and I am feeling better, I hope that you will be better soon also. This is definitely alot harder than I thought. I have yet to even had a pureed meal.
