McDowell Baptist Hospital

Hi everyone! Has anyone had WLS with Dr. McDowell with Baptist here in Nashville? I attended the WLS seminar on Saturday and he was the doctor presenting the information. I liked him a lot and he is the ONLY doctor at Baptist approved with my insurance. I would love to hear from anyone who: 1. Had McDowell as their surgeon 2. Had WLS at Baptist. Please be as open and honest as you can. I appreciate the answers/help so much! Michelle :help:

I had my surgery at Baptist but my surgeon was Dr. Spaw. Dr. McDowell is now in the same office as Dr. Spaw but I've never met him. I have heard good things about him though. I believe you will be in very good hands with him. I know the staff at Baptist will take very good care of you. Everyone from the people who did my pre-op testing all the way through to the lady who wheeled me out to my car to go home post-op were absolutely wonderful to me and my hubby. One of the nursing techs on 8 Kidd is a post-op herself. I really enjoyed talking with her after my surgery. I don't believe you will find a better staff for follow up than at Metabolic Surgery Center. If you are able, come join our support group. We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 in the MSC waiting room. We have a great time! Susan

Hi Susan, Thank you so much for responding. I had my 18 month old at Baptist and absolutely LOVED everything about my experience. That is the main reason why I really only want to go to Baptist for WLS. Thank you for the invite to the support group. I will check it out! Congratulations on your success! Michelle : -)
