Hello Everyone wondering about feelings.
My friends here,
I was wondering since we are big have you noticed that your feelings were easily hurt?
Since I have lost 30 pounds I have been more sentive to what poeple are saying and acting towards me.
I find that when someone says something cruel towards me I start crying or tearing up. I asked my sister and she told me today that I have been very overly sentive lately. I was kinda aware of it, but It is getting worse since close friends and family know of it. I think because of the weight lost that my hormones are acting up again. When they do I get really emotional.
But this is weird. I have been tearing up hours atfer the verbal abuse or cruel word. And I can not seem to want to stop. I think maybe I am tired of keeping those things inside for too long. I think that my body is trying to tell me it is time to let yourself cry. But I feel bad to feel so weak and emotional.
I know it is weird for a adult to say this but that is what is happening to me for the last two months.
Have any one of you my friends here on Obesity help gone through or are going through this? I have not had surgery yet so I know it has nothing to do with that. I might be putting to much pressure on myself with the diet and the appointment with the WLS. But I do not think so. I am fine and my day is good until someone say's something to hurt me. I really do not know what is going on with me lately? Do any of you all have a ideal?
Thank you all for you kindness.
Your friend,
Tina

Hello Tina, I haven't noticed it yet. I was easily hurt prior to my surgery, but seem to have more confidence now. It is hard being obese. Don't let anyone kid you. I think that most everyone has encountered the cruelty of people. This will pass. After your surgery you will be fine. I wish you the best of luck.

Tina Wow 30lb gone already you are doing terrific!! you are under the stress and strain of dieting, facing major weight loss surgery, and also other life changing decisions and issues you have "alot on your plate" so to speak. your emotions and nerves are on high alert you will slowly come to terms with your body and feelings but you wil be on roller coaster ride for awhile if you are overly sensitive for awhile so be it... at least a good cry does help!! hang in there girl you are doing the right thing, soon you will be smiling and on the happy road to wellness HUggggggggggggg Arianna

Tina,
I'm not sure if you've had surgery but there are a lot of hormones that are stored in fat. As we metabolize (or lose) the fat, those hormones are released into our systems and can wreak havoc. Plus, there could be a little post-op depression going on. Talk to your doctor, s/he may be able to perscribe a mild anti-depressent to get you through the rough spots. It's actually quite common for wls patients to be on some form of psychotropics.
I know the support of everyone here on the boards is well intentioned but please talk to your doctor to get a medical opinion. I hope you're feeling better soon.
