Need help Please

Are there any Centers of Excellence in Tennessee that accept Illinois medicaid for Lap band procedures?I`m from Illinois and Most places here have stopped accepting Medicaid.But Illinois Medicaid will pay if I have to go out of state if the Dr.will accept it.I am one clearance test away from bein done with them all and now I have to find another facility.Please help. You can check with Vanderbilt University Med Center and Centennial Med Ctr. I know they both do the lap band but don't know about their insurance acceptance policies. Personally I would stay away from Centennial but that's just my personal preference. I don't know if Baptist Hospital does the lap band, I know they do lap RNY, but you can check with them. Skyline Med Center doesn't do bariatric surgeries any longer or I would send you there. Good luck. Toni

You can call the Metabolic Surgery Center at Baptist (615-284-2400) and talk to Dawn. She is their insurance person. She will be able to help you find out if your insurance will work with them and also if they accept Medicaid. Drs. Spaw, Lynch & McDowell at Baptist all perform the lap band procedure. MSC is a Center of Excellence. I would strongly recommend Dr. Spaw.
