Geez, It's been a long while since I visited OH. I've just been so busy. I hope that everyone has been doing well. Anyway, I need to talk and get some answers if possible. I've never been pregnant. And now I'm scared I might be. Let me start at the beginning. I started seeing this guy. We've had sex. We have always used condoms. I am not on the pill. Well, one time the darned thing slipped and came off. Neither of us realized it for a while until we changed positions and realized it had come off. He had not yet "finished" if you know what I'm talking about. This was a little over a week ago. The last two or three days I've noticed some changes. I'm so sleepy and tired all the time. My boobs are tender. And today I noticed that my nipples look darker and they sort of stand out more. I also noticed that my breasts look bigger. They feel heavier and they seemed to bounce more today. Maybe I am imagining it. I am also having more of the clear discharge than I normally have. It is not time for my period, I still have a couple of weeks to go. I've never had these symptoms before. This lady I work with said she noticed the same breast changes about a week after also. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any advice? Could I really be pregnant? Is it way too soon to take a test?? Anybody? I just don't know what to do or what to think. Julie, Its been almost 19 years since I got pregnant however I will tell you that when I did it happened just about the same way you are talking about except that my boyfriend took his condom off without telling me. Anyway, about a week later I started to notice changes in my breast including the areola (the brown part around the nipple) began to turn a very dark shade of brown. I waited another week and went to see my doctor and had a pregnancy test done and it came out positive. I'm sure that the tests are more sensitive now then they were in 1988. In my opinion you need to have a blood test done so you can know for sure because the more you worry about it the less likely you will start your period because of the stress. Good Luck to you. Karen

Thank you Karen. I was afraid I was crazy to think I was noticing weird things so soon after. I'll take a test soon to see if it shows anything. If not I will retake in a few weeks when my next period should come. I know when my last one was but they are very irregular. In a way I really do want a baby. But I'm scared. I'm almost excited too. I just have so many emotions right now. Thanks again. Julie

Hi Julie, sounds like you are pregnant. You'll know for sure when in a couple of weeks, you do the ept test. You will also may notice certain smells, or certain foods will start making you sick. I am excited for you. It's normal to have mixed emotions during this time. It's called hormones. If I were a betting person, I would say without a doubt you are pregnant. Sometimes the urine test with the Dr. comes out negative, and a week later come out positive. With both of my pregnancies I was told I wasn't pregnant and a week later proved them wrong. Back in the 70's you didn't have home pregnant testings, you had to wait until your were late, but I only had periods every 3-4 months but I always new when I was pregnant. The breasts were the first indication, the smell of coffee, tomato based foods and orange juice will not settle to well with your stomach. Buy you an EPT test kit and ease your worries. Love ya, Kathy

Hey Kat, Good to hear from you. I've been wondering how you've been. I am going to get a test done in a few weeks. If I am I just am. I've been praying that God do what is right for me at this time. I'll just take it one day at a time for now. Love you too, Julie

I'm no Dr...or pretend to be one.... but I doubt that you would have these "signs" one week aftetr having sex--- it sounds to me like maybe some of the "signs" are OVULATION.... soreness/disharge etc...normally ovualtion takes place about 14 days prior to yur next period. I think the earliest that you can test is about a week AFTER your missed period.

Julie - I would say that you should probably take a pregnancy test, there are some on the market that you can use very early. But your symptoms also sound like what happens to me when I ovulate. My breasts get slightly heavier and tender, my nipples stand out more and I get a clear discharge. And that happens ever month when I ovulate. So don't jump to conclusions but get a test and if it's inconclusive, make an appointment with your gyn. I hope you get the answers you're looking for. Good luck Toni
