Insurance Question
I am in the process of getting all my ducks in a row so when I go for my surgeons visit next month, I will be ready. I spoke with the surgeons assistant today on the phone. My problem is that they are asking for the last five months of my medical records and all I have is the past year. My previous doctor moved out of town and I am unable to find my records. The surgeons assistant told me that alot of insurance companies wont approve the surgery without five years of medical documentation. I currently have TennCare insurance. Does anyone know if this is correct. Should I expect to be denied because I dont have five years of medical documentation?
Hello Sara! Did you have five years of medical documentation to submit to your insurance company? If not then how many years of documentation did you submit?? I lurk alot on here and I have been keeping up with your progress on the board. I am so happy for you that you are doing so well. Maybe someday I can be as big of a loser as you! hahahahaha
I have BC/BS out of Pittsburgh, thru my employer. & they did not specify this although the center I am using stated it in initial paperwork they sent. Called & spoke w/nurse. Told her no dr. for years except since 1/04. She suggested pixs from over the last years showing weight increases. She even suggested letters from family & friends as backup. Hope this helps.
Baffle 'em w/paper & pixs. They are only paper pushers. Also, ask for a supervisor or manager. Keep on pushing.
Kiss, Kiss.
