?? BCBS of IL ??

Hello everyone !! Just wanted to check and see if anyone has had recent WLS ( gastric bypass ) that was covered under BCBS of IL ? I am 1 month away from my 12 month supervised diet and just wanted to know if they were gonna throw any more "whammies" on me !! Just wondering how long it took to get an "ok" for surgery from them. Thank you !!

Hi Susan, can't help you out on the insurance, but 12 month supervised diet. How much have you lost this past 11 months? Most gripe as they have to do a 6 month, but 12 months. Even I couldn't have handled that much on my own without help. Best of luck and May God travel with you on this new journey. Kathy

Hi there Kathy ! Actually, i have GAINED since i started the 12 month diet. I'm scared that will come back to "haunt" me with the ins.

Hi Susan, Just make sure you have EVERYTHING required by the insurance company and you'll have no problems. It took a little over a week for approval. I have BC/BS of TN, they covered everything. Also, I recently found out that they are now requiring a 10% loss of excess body weight, so you might want to check the requirements if you haven't recently. Good luck to you! April
