I hope someone can help me........

Hi!! I'm Sharon and had my surgery 2 years ago. I live in Alabama but my sister is wanting to have her surgery in Tennessee. I'm hoping that someone can help me with a great doctor that works out of Vanderbilt Hospital. I'm not familiar with that area. My sister is on Medicare and is having trouble finding a doctor that will accept it. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance!! Hugs and Happiness, Sharon P.

Hi Sharon, I just had my surgery done at Vanderbilt a couple of weeks ago. I am not sure about who does the medicare patients, but I know they do so many a month. This is the link to their seminar info site http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/root/vumc.php?site=bariatric&doc=4522 If your sister signs up for the seminar they will be able to help her out. She also can call 615-343-8988 to ask specifically if and when they do medicare patients. This number is often busy or on the other line. My best advice is to just keep calling back and not leaving a message. Eventually she will get a person! Hope this helps. Rachael

i had my surgery in johnson city tennesse. ddr scot****son, i know that that is very far from nashville, but his office said that if i had medicare i would not had to go thru the 6 months of weigh ins. i was in the hospital for 4 days and have no complications and am off my insulin pump and oral medications.

Hi Sharon, I had my surgery at Vanderbilt by Dr. Wright. I also have Medicare. I had no problem getting accepted or anything. Dr. Wright is a great surgeon however he is a bit gruff and does not sugar-coat anything. I owe my new life to this man and cant ever repay him. Mikki
