Dr. Melvin

I have not met him yet but have any of you had Dr. Melvin for your surgeon. If so give me the lowdown on him!!! Terry

I am so sorry no one has responded to your post....I have been off the boards for awhile and am just now looking back to see what I missed. Dr. Melvin is my surgeon and I LOVE him....He is so wonderful.... before surgery he spent alot of time with me answering my questions, listening my husbands concerns and was willing to answer all of my questions. The day of surgery, he staff and assistants were very attentive and he personally came and spoke to my husband about my surgery, my husband said her spent about 15-20 minutes with him. The follow up care has been great. He is very gentle when he gives my fills and it is my call if I want another fill. I have had 3 fills for a total of 2.0 cc's, I am now at restriction and back to the way I was having to eat after my surgery, small bites, chew, chew, chew..... After this last fill he gave me another appointment, but said if I felt I did not need another fill and everything was going along well, to cancel it and just reschedule it when I felt I needed it. I have lost about 60 pounds since December, 44 pounds since surgery. I had surgery in March. I know there are alot of other people on this board that have lost faster....but I have lost from a size 24 to a size 16/18. At my last check up I had only lost 5 pounds in 6 weeks, but had lost 3 inches in my waist.....I will take the inches anyday.........Dr. Melvin is very happy with my weight loss and has encouraged me to progress my exercise program......I now do water aerobic, (Dr. Melvin said very good for skin issues), cycling, and the Firm tapes....I alternate so I do not get bored.....I feel that I am not loosing alot of weight right now, because I am gaing muscle....... Sorry this was so long, just wanted to give you words of encouragement. I really do love Dr. Melvin and would recommend him to anyone, he is kind, caring and compassionate. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply Lisa. I had my surgery Monday and came home today. I am doing well. Very little pain. I'm moving well and eating what I can on a full iquid diet. As for Dr. Melvin, he is WONDERFUL. So kind and compassinate. He spent lots of time with me and my husband. He was there before surgery and when I woke up. He came twice to see me yesterday and once today. I too would recommend him to anyone. He is GREAT!!!!.....Terry
