I HAVE A DATE!
I finally have a date. It is Thursday, June 22nd. Only two weeks away. I feel like I have so much to do in these two weeks. Thanks everyone for answering my questions and being supportive. I am sure in these next two weeks, I will have some more questions to drive you crazy! I am getting my list together for my surgeon too. Type to you later!
Oh Yeah- Can anyone tell me a list of vitamins you had to have for after surgery. I want to start buying them and I haven't gottem my list from the Vandy yet. I assume everyone's list is pretty much the same. Thanks
Misty

Hi Misty
Congrats on a date. It's exciting I know. I was taken aback because that's exactly my one month anniversary!
I had my surgery at Vandy as well. You will need a chewable multivitamin with iron in it. Like, flinestones complete. All children's vits that say complete have iron. You will have to take two of those a day. Also, you will have to have calcium citrate. 1200 mg a day. In a few small doses. There are chewable options.
Also, get some liquid tylenol. It's a lifesaver after the lortab is gone.
good luck
Rachael
Hey Misty - congrats on the date!!
As for vitamins, there are a couple of bariatric chewable that you can get either from the doctors office or online. But check with your doctor and follow his/her guidelines!
I go to GNC and get the chewable Solotron, it's a good all purpose multivitamin. I supplement that with chewable vitamin C and the Women's Ultra Iron, I take two of the iron a day or I tend to get anemic. I also use the GNC calcium citrate, it's not chewable but the tablets aren't too big. One important thing to remember is to not take the iron and calcium at the same time. They will bind each other and your body won't be able to absorb them if taken together. I usually take the iron and vitamin C together as they help each other when it comes to absorption. Don't try to take everything at once, spread them out throughout the day so you don't upset your pouch.
Always follow your doctors guidelines and you'll do fine.
