I have repeatedly said I wasn't going to buy new clothes unless I absolutely had to. Well, today I HAD to buy 3 pairs of shorts and 2 tops because they were an 18 and they fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are going to a family reunion in Mississippi the end of this month and none of hubby's family even knows I've had this surgery. At last years FR I was at my all time high of 287. I expect (hope) to be very close to 200 by the end of the month. I can't wait to see everyone's expressions when they see me. Last year one of hubby's uncles, who has a bad case of foot in mouth disease, looked at us and actually said, "D@mn, y'all have gotten BIG!" Looking forward to him eating those words this year. He's no poster child for anexoria himself. Susan

I had to start buying new clothes less then 2 months after surgery. Make that uncle eat his words. I am in 18's also, but still losig weight. I'm below 200 already. Started out at 277.5, and on Friday will be my 5 month anniversary. Can't wait. I need to move at the end of the month. I don't have any money to even put down on a place or pay for the deposits for hook-ups or for the rent. I just found this out last night. I am on Section 8 thru HUD that helps pay my rent. They need a month to clear me from here and to approve of the next place. So I will be staying with a friend for a month so I'll have the extra money needed. So I will be staying in Morristown, TN for at least a year after that I may move to the Nashville area closer to my sons and grandsons. I can still wear some of my shirts because I never thru them in the dryer because of them shrinking, now they go in the dryer so they continue to fit. But shorts and jeans are a size 18 and I could easily fit in size 16, but I don't want to buy any more unless necessary. It felt good actually shopping for smaller clothes. I was on a natural high trying on new things in a smaller size. I do need to buy new super woman undies. These have to be pulled up to my bra since I don't have the stomach of a 11 month pregnacy sticking out. That I will be doing tomorrow after I finish working out. Then I start finding boxes for packing and putting in a storage unit. This is making my stomach queasy just the ought of moving. Have fun at your reunion. If it's anything like the shock on my family (parents still haven't seen me since surgery) it's worth it. Make them bow down to you girl and kiss the tops of your toes. love ya, Kathy

Kathy & Susan, As for clothes, I have a friend who had the gastric bypass surgery last Sept. and she shops at GoodWill and the "dig stores" until she gets to her goal. She has found some really nice clothes there. Nice enough to wear to work. You might think about it so when you lose more weight you won't be putting out a lot of money. This is what I plan to do and I'm really looking forward to it. Also you might consider joining the Freecycle Groups near you and post your wants. Terry
