Medical ID bracelets
Hey guys. I just wanted to let you all know that I ordered my medical id bracelet from Lauren's Hope. I didn't know if I should get one or not, but I thought better safe than sorry. Oh my...it's gorgeous. They really have pretty ones. I got the mood bead one. It's awesome.
Anyone else have one?

I am registered with Medic Alert. Remember after surgery, no tube can be put down you thru the nose. It can rupture the pouch. Some says that's only for the first month, but it's not because the Ntube goes down to far and can cause problems later on. It is strong enough to still tear into your pouch. So make sure that your ID braclet has that information. It can save your life sometime. I know with Medic Alert it has saved my life several times. Well worth the $20 a month to have them keep my medical information up-to-date. I just call them or go online and change what ever needs to be changed and they send me a new card and the paper for me to carry. I'm allergic to over 30 meds. I can't remember them all, so I carry the card and paper work with me everywhere. Is Lauren's Hope available 24 hours a day? What does their membership fee run?
Need to eat and get ready for another sleep study, the one last Monday evening was inconclusive, I couldn't sleep as I wasn't on any oxygen. So I am having it done again tonight at a different place, I always get good readings from them, whereas the first place I never do.
Love ya Kathy
I'm a member of MedicAlert too, have been since I was 12 and they discovered I am deathly allergic to penicillin. I have a very nice 2-tone gold and titanium emblem bracelet. (which I need to go have some more links taken out of because it's gotten so loose)
Like Kathy said, all I have to do is go online and update my info. Everything from each of my doctors and their contact info, emergency contact info for my husband and kids, every surgery I've ever had, every medication I take or am allergic to, all of my medical conditions and who my medical insurance is with.
I don't have to have any personal info like name or phone number on my bracelet. There is a toll free number to MedicAlert that any medical provider can call to get my most current information.
What I do have engraved on my bracelet is: Diabetes, allergic to penicillin, bee stings & codeine
Well worth the $20 per year. It speaks for me when I'm unable to. It has saved my life! I was stung once at work and my co-workers knew immediately to call an ambulance.
