Well, it's been 8 days since my surgery. Things went relatively smoothly I believe. I don't have very much pain at all. What I do have is swelling. I have high blood pressure and I retain water very easily. I think as of today, I have lost all the water weight I gained during surgery. Now we can see the weight come off! I go tomorrow to Vandy to get the staples removed. I hope that isn't painful. I am doing good walking everyday and getting in my protein, but I will be so happy tomorrow to move onto the next level of the diet. I have never craved cottage cheese so much! hehe I am feeling pretty good and hoping to only get better! How are all the recent post ops doing? I know there are a lot of us! Rachael

Hi Rachael, glad you are doing good. I eat a lot of cottage cheese. High in Protein and potassium. I added fresh blueberries to it this past weekend. I was sooooooo good. Usually I would just add pineapple, but I even like it with strawberries. Take some cottage cheese put it in a blender and add one Tablespoon of the cheese cake mix, blend together, makes a great custard. I've some add it to their scramble egg for an omlette affect. Wal-marts had cottage cheese with a side order of fruits to add to the cottage cheese. When I get paid this week, I'm going to buy me some so I can eat before working out. Keep working your new tool. You will succeed. Love ya, kathy

Hey Rachel!!! I am glad to hear that you are well, I was wondering about you!!! No, the staples don't hurt a bit being taken out, and you will feel 10 times better just by having those darn things out ( at least I did ) Also depending on how healed up you are they might put on some "seeler" type product that is supposed to fall off, but I didn't need that so I don't know much about it. When I went in to see Jodi she also gave me some gallbladder med, ( cause of how fast we're loosing weight ) which I am not happy about having to crash up another pill. I have ulser med's I take twice a day, and I can't seem to get used to the horrible taste. She said try to crush and put in sugur free pudding, but.... yuck!!! I think the best thing that I have done is 100% apple juice 50/50 with water and then the pills mixed in. I am having a hard time getting in my protein. I can not stand those drinks!!!!! I am so sick of sweet stuff and they are so thick and yuck!!! I like fat free refried beans with a little cheese for lunch or dinner also yogurt and mashed potatoes. I think I will try some cottage cheese though Kathy, sounds good. Anyway good luck with everything, it get's better everyday doesn't it?!?
