Hi everyone! Just wanted to say hi and see how everyone is doing. I haven't posted much as there is no need to, but have been lurking I had my 6 week appt. w/my surgeon on Friday. I've lost 40lbs which I think is wonderful, though I got the impression from my surgeon that I wasn't exactly on track according to what my BMI was before surgey. My BMI is finally under 50! I've lost a ton of inches. My clothes fit SOOO much better and am slowly looking better...well not so swollen and bloated looking lol and the best thing, I feel so much better when I exercise. I have little or no cravings for the things I craved before surgery...eating has become such a chore that I don't want to do it. Eating is like taking medicine now. So that's pretty much it for now. Hope all is well with everyone. Take care

Hi April, glad you are on the losing side, and I would say you're doing great. My surgeon says that the weight loss should be 47% of your starting weight divided by the weeks. Then you'll know whether you are on track or not. Besides everyone loses at their own pace not the Dr.'s. We're proud of you and that's what counts. I haven't lost any in about 3 weeks. I haven't taken my chemo in 4 days, so the rashy blisters are starting to heal and my potassium hasn't dropped. I appreciate your effort on the weightloss, and that you are feeling so much better. Love ya, keep up the great work. Kathy

Thanks Kathy, Sounds like you're doing better. Are you not suppose to be taking your chemo pills? That sounds a little on the dangerous side. Take care April

On track? Sounds like you are following the rules, right? Then you are on track. Doing great as a matter of fact. Keep it up. Push yourself every week just a little bit further in the exercise and before you know it you'll be amazed at what your doing. Think about the fact that you are carrying a lot of weight around with you. As you drop the weight you have to push further cause your not carrying the weight. I'm amazed at what I can do and I'm only about 10 months out. I'm so proud of you. Keep up the good work! Beth B. in Chattanooga 319/277/162/150 highest/at curgery/now/goal?

Everyone looses at their own rate. There is no set standard. Dont worry.

I think you are doing great! I can't wait til I am at the place you are... where food isn't a big deal anymore... I have been concerned that after surgery, what if I still want food? What if I can't get full? What if I crave something? If I didn't WANT food, I would be better off!! But I think you have done great, and I still look on the website every day to look at the before and after pics... it is so encouraging and pushes me on another day.

Hi April, Congratulations on your progress. I thoght you were a lot further out for some reason. I'm 4 weeks out today and I go back to Dr. Dyer next week. How has everything been for you mentally and physically. What are you eating now? At what point does the Dr.'s office start taking Labs?
