OK...tell me the truth. I'm gonna be nauseated and puking for the rest of my life, right? I'm 6 1/2 mons post op from bypass and I am nauseated most every time I try to eat anything. I throw up about 5-6 times a week or maybe more. Yes, I've talked to the docs. They gave me phenergan which doesn't help, reglan, same, several others I can't remember. Yes, I've been scoped. No strictures. Any hope?

Yes. I do have a bad habit of eating fast so it's a real challenge for me but I do make a conscious effort. Doesn't seem to matter what I eat, mushy or solid etc. Have found that things like skin on potatoes are deadly.

Hi Sharon, I know about being sick every day. I have leukemia and on chemo every night. Have they done any recent bloodwork regarding your potassium, magnesium, and protein levels? Have them check that. When my potassium level is below 3.6 I stay ing and end up hooked up to an IV to have it pumped into me. Water pills will cause fluid retention to go away, but it also can slowly deplete your potassium. That can cause a massive heart attack or heart damage. My body is rejecting the potassium, but the chemo meds cause it to drop into the critical zone of 2.2-2.9. So I know about being sick. Otherwise, I would say it's maybe something you are eating and not chewing it well, eating too fast, that was my problem at first, or you may be eating something that your body isn't ready for. Start writing down what you ate on the days you get sick, and see if you can make the dots connect to what is the problem. It may be a certain bread, beef or pork. Anything with bleached flour can make you sick as it makes starch which makes sugar. Have you had your sugar checked lately. I don't monitor mine twice a day like I should, nor do I have to take my diabetic pill, but I still have to keep a close watch on what I eat because of being a diabetic. I don't know if I have helped you or not. My "doc" license is packed in my cedar chest, I only bring it out once in a while. But I would insist on a complete blood panel, glucose test, and write down what you eat each day especially on the days you get sick. And you aren't going to a fire, so please slow down on eating. Hope you start feeling better soon, it's not fun being sick daily. Always Kathy
