Just got home from the hospital. My potassium level was 2.9, critical, after giving me a large bag of potassium with Magnesium, they just shut the door and let me sleep as I was going to be there a while. When the bag was empty and the IV removed, they then decided to just do it from the finger. This is a first going from 2.9 to 4.4, so I didn't have to stay in the hospital although I had an over night bag with me. Now I am off to bed. It's almost 8am and I was at the ER at 12:30am. I am very tired. But their smaller gowns actually was able to be tied in the back, lose in the arms, and nothing showing. Before January I wouldn't have been able to even get it on and always had to wear the super size. Last night I had an MRI on my right knee and actually fit on the table. Nothing of me was hanging over the sides, and I didn't get stuck in it like the last year. Off to I need some ZZZZZ. ya, Kathy

Hi Maria, thank you, now I know the trick to stay out of the hospital, what mixture to use that will boost my potassium way up into the normal range. Last night was the first time it ever went as high as it did. Most of the time it will go from the 2 range to maybe 3. But to go from 2.9 critical to 4.4 was fantastic. Normal range is 3.6-5, any thing that falls below 3.6 is getting low, and critical is when it drops down into the 2 bracket. I will have to deal with this as long as I have to take chemo pills for my leukemia for the rest of my life. Well, I'm off to go eat something. I'm hungreyyyyyy. Love ya, Kathy

If I keep striving toward the end of the tunnel, I'll be dead by then. I know this is going to be a problem I will always have to deal with as long as I am on chemo pills. I can't keep the supplements down, and the fizz tablets when put in water become carbinated, tastes like oranges and burns my stomach. I can dissolve them in grape juice no sugar added (Wal-Mart brand Sams Choice) and it will stay down, but I am flat, overdrawn at the bank, broke and don't get paid until the first of the month. So I a lot, go to the ER and get hooked up to some potassium for about 4-5 hours, then sent home. Every Thursday morning now I have to go to the Cancer center have my blood drawn, and if low I'm hooked up for 4 hours. Apparently, what they gave me on Thursday wasn't enough to get my levels up, as I bottomed out on Saturday evening. I was 2.9. Normal is 3.6-5, by the time I was finished with the big bag, they took out the IV from my port. I wanted to make sure it was above level, so they took it from my finger. I was 4.4 that's the highest it's ever gotten. Thanks for your prayers, love ya Kathy
