Hi everyone, I had my surgery on May 2nd and I'm back to work today. Everything was great! I had my surgery at Centennial Hospital and Dr. Dyer was my surgeon. I can truly say that my recovery has been nothing short of divine. I prayed and prayed about this and God blessed me to come out just fine. I have not used any pain medications since I've been home. I only used my PCA morphine pump 3 times and that was on the day of surgery. I left the hospital 3 days later and the nurses were fussing at me b/c I didn't use my PCA. I am blending food right now..running out of ideas so if anyone has any please let me know. I am truly blessed and if there are any of questions for me please don't hesitate to ask. I have lost 25lbs in so far...I'm excited that the worst part is over. HUGS))))

Toi, congrads on having a successful surgery and recovery. You're right the worst is over. I went out to IHOP with a friend after working out. I had a small bowl of strawberries, and cottage cheese. I had 2 bites of the cottage cheese and the strawberries. He was eating hash browns, two fried eggs, stuffed banana french toast, bacon and sausage. I could feel my artiers harding. Here's a little tip on getting in all your water supply, sf popsickles, sf jello, broth all go towards your water supply. I love Campbells beefy mushroom soup, just don't eat the mushrooms or the pieces of beef. I don't like the flavored waters, but my daughter-n-love made one on Sunday for our Mother's Day cookout. Put a lb of strawberries in a blender, add splenda to taste and mix with 2 quarts of water. HMM yummy. I didn't do the blended foods, they looked like what comes out of my grandsons diaper. I do eat Gerber level 2 Dutch apple dessert at night with my chemo medications. Applesauce bothers my stomach. When at a restaurante look at the menu real carefully. There is always something you can order in a small section, pinto bean broth, cottage cheeese, fresh fruit, soups. Let the server know you just had stomach surgery and can eat very little, mostly a small child serving. I have only been charge twice since my surgery 4 months ago. I love Chinese, but I love it all and I end up with an egg roll that I unwrap and add to Wonton soup. Then I go for just shrimp. Remember protein first. So I am avoiding Chinese foods for now. I know you will do fine, and I do have some low fat recipes, but email me to my private email address, and I will write down the recipes for you. Love Kathy

Congratulations Toi! So glad to see you on the other side In all honesty, I didn't blend my food... I chewed it really really well. I had soft foods chewed to mush. Eggs, cottage cheese, low fat cheese, turkey deli sliced meat, cream cheese, the Bocco type burgers w/cheese, chicken breast w/light no sugar added ragu spaghetti sauce and ff mozzerella cheese. I have had no problems with the exception of swallowing something that was chewed properly and that was just recently. It felt like a rock stuck in the middle of my chest. Congratulations on the weight loss! April

Arianna, I'll be praying for you in your journey towards WLS. The morphine pump is attached to your IV station and there's a PC Pump with a button that you push when you are in pain and it automatically releases morphine into your IV for instant relief Keep me posted in how you are doing!!! (((Hugs)))
