Psych Eval

I had the other half of my psych eval this afternoon. I passed. Blue Cross has made it mandatory that a person take the MMPI and an IQ test. At the time of my first appointment, this new criteria had just been introduced so I had to go back to finish. I have been contacting all my doctor's offices and getting all the records I can think of... that way my doctor's office will have it all together before I end the exercise/weight loss program... and can get an early start on getting me approved.... Say a prayer for me over the next 3 months. I have to complete the program and lose 10% of my body weight. I know I can do it. But its the stick-to-it-iveness that I have to maintain....

Hi Melinda, Don't you just hate having to take the MMPI test? I had to take two, one psych said I wasn't a candidate for surgery. The second one said I was unstable. What do they know, I had surgery anyways and I am thrilled with what I have done so far. You can do it on the weightloss, you just have to make yourself do it and stick to it. It's only 3 more months. If you can't stick to this diet, you may find it harder to sticking to it after surgery. Do your best, that is what is expected of you. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Love Kathy

Melinda, I feel for you - I have BCBST as well and my paperwork got in on April 11th - 2 days BEFORE the new rules. At first they didn't want to accept that I should be reviewed under the old rules and said that I was going to have to go through all of the new rules but luckily the folks at my employers benefits dept contacted them and I guess said all the right things because they finally reversed their initial decision. Now I am waiting because I needed a letter of recommendation so I got one from my PCP here in TN and one from my PCP in Georgia. That was all submitted today so hopefully I will know something next week.... I'm SOOOOOOOOOO anxious. If you haven't look on the BCBST website and check out thier decision support tool - it will tell you "everything" Hugs, Mara
