case manager

Hi Guys, I am having a hard time lately...I have done everything I needed to do for my WLS except lose 5% of the starting weight which was about 18 pounds.....If I get a case manager which I never heard of until tonight,do you think he/she can get my surgery approved??? I have Tenncare Select,but I am soooo afraid I will lose it soon....Someone out here who can help me??? Blessings,Paula

Hi Paula, a case manager is very helpful, where it's to let you know what surgeon and hospital is covered, to helping you get approved. Be sure when you call the customer service # on the back of your card, that when you are assigned one usually within 48 hours, that you let your surgeon know. Then if there is any problems, then they or you can contact your case manager. The manager will stay with you for one year. They will call you every month to check up on you and see if you need them for anything. May God travel with you on this journey. Keep us posted. Kathy

Kathy, I have read your posts and every time I do I cry. You seem like you are so happy and spirited....I want so bad to have my WLS.I wiah I didnt weight what I do now, but I do and right now there is nothing I can do about it except pray.Last week I did without bread and potatoes completely until friday. I started gagging when I went to eat my hamburger patty without bread or anything.So I ate a slice of pizza.At least I got my energy back.I have made it a week without any type of sweets though and I was chocoholic........I also quit my regular cokes cold turkey.....please pray for me that God will indeed will my surgery soon............Blessings, and In Appreciation,Paula

Paula, I have BlueCare/Medicade. I also used Dr. Hodge. He is a GOOD surgeon. I had to do the weigh in's, but couldn't lose any weight. I am a stress eater also. I wanted to tell you that when they submitted my paperwork, all I had to do was get a letter of reccomendation from my PCP.After that, it was FAST!!! He sent it on Thurs. & by Mon. my surgery was scheduled. I am telling you, it was fast. I will be 2 weeks out tom. May 2nd is my new REbirthday. I hope & pray that yours goes as fast & as well as mine did. Dr. Hodges office know's what to do to help you get approved. Please keep your chin up, it will come in Gods time. Sara.
