How is your journey going?  I hope everything is good.  What is your diet like now 2 months later?

I am scheduled tomorrow for assessment and am a little nervous.  Not quite sure what to expect.  I am driving down from Saskatoon early in the morning.  Not sure where to stay that is reasonable and close so thought I would check that out after the appointment.  Any suggestions?

Aqain I hope you are doing ok and losing lots and lots.

Topic: Support Groups in Saskatoon???
I am new to this whole thing and go for my assessment tomorrow in Regina at the Bariatric Clinic.  Does anyone know of support groups in the Saskatoon area as that is where I am.  I really want to have this as I know it will help make my success better.  And who doesn't need a little support!
Thanks

Topic: Dr. Mario Almanza in Mexico
I found a video on youtube where a few women from Saskatchewan went to see him to have surgery.  Just wondering how your treatment and surgery went.  Or if anyone else went to him if they can provide me all the good and bad (if there is) details.

Thanks

Hey butterfly, when you get in to speak with the surgeon, then request the vsg. Give them your reasoning for wanting it over the rny and you may be quite pleased. All three surgeons were very receptive to the idea of doing the vsg.
Take care

Hey Straw Walker......I was wondering if you could tell me more about the VSG surgery in Regina.  I am Finally on the wait list to see the doctor and was only told they are doing bypass......now you have me excited that I might be able to actually have the VSG surgery that I want.  I am still hoping that the wait list goes down and I can have the surgery sooner.......I am now on a medical leave from work and would love to go back. ......but I am more focused on the fact that the VSG surgery is being possibly being done here in SASK.....did you have to request it??.....sorry.....if you could let me know how it came about that you were able to get VSG I would be very grateful

Topic: RE: Anyone have vsg done in sask?
Great news PrairieLady. When I was at my 2 week follow up, I ask Dr. Butler if they were planning on doing more VSG's in Sask now. He said that if the individual was adament about having the VSG then they would. I wanted you to know this. I was very relieved and happy about having it done close to home even though I know that there are fantastic options in other countries. It is much better to have after care close to you. Also, I have to say, Dr. Pooler, Dr. Kaban, and Dr. Butler are some of the finest surgeons anywhere. We are very lucky here in Sask.
Take care

My diet was 1 week of clear fluids then 2 weeks of full liquid's then 5 weeks of soft foods. then to a normal diet. all i did was watch carbs no potato pasta rice and bread. I did not worry about fats at all. I did not count caliors very close.  I am by no means  an experts  It just worked for me....
