Looking for Surgeon Closer to Home

Hi everyone! I live in Rural Saskatchewan and would like information as to the whereabouts of a Surgeon to perform Laparoscopic Banding that is closer to me than either Vancouver, BC or Toronto, ON. Can anyone help me???

Hi, I am seeing Dr. Davey in Edmonton at the Weight wise clinic at the Royal Alexander hospital. I waited one year to be seen, in march 2007 and now am going for my second appointment on June 4. I was told I could have my surgery as early as late summer or fall. I am in the process of looking into whether or not it is covered because itis done at a publically funded hospital not a private clinic. It is covered for all Alberta residents. The gastric bypass is covered by Sask Health but I have been arguing with them about Lap Band. Google Weight wise clinic in edmonton for a referral form for your family doc.

Tanya, Since June 4 has come and gone, I'm curious as to what's going to happen to you! Are they going to let you get banded or will you have to get the RNY? (I argued with SK Health also, with no success, so self paid in ON)
