Am seriously considering lap band out of country. Where can I get fills? Dr davey does not do fills for people who are not his patients, and neither does the dr in calgary. For those of you who went out of the country, who does you fills??? Please let me know. Thanks so much. You can email at [email protected]

apparently there is a doctor in Winnipeg who does fills - I think it's a Dr. Andrews. He has not yet been approved by Manitoba Health to do the surgeries but he does the fill for people who have had the lapband surgery in Toronto. Margaret

Hi Kris, There is a new post on this site of a nurse in Saskatoon willing to do fills for other patients. She has the lap band herself. She also posted her e-mail address so you can contact her directly. I'm also thinking of going to Mexico to get the surgery but my main concern was where to get the fills done. I contacted her and am looking forward to talking to her.

Hi, I am seeing Dr. Davey in his edmonton clinic. I am curious why you are considering out of country surgery. You mentioned Dr. Davey; have you heard anything about him?

Hi Tanya, The biggest reason for out of country is the wait period in Canada, as well as the cost. I am in Sakatchewan and the lapband is not covered. I saw Dr Davey and he seems like a really nice guy. I have actually had surgery one month ago today. Everything went very well and I am on my way!!! I have lost 35 lbs so far. If you have any other questions...I would be happy to help you with them. Kris

Hi Kris, Who did your surgery and how did it go. I have recently talked to Shirley Bergman who had it done by Dr. Kuri and I am considering him. What challenges are you encountering now? Tanya

Surgery went great and I also had mine done with Dr Kuri. He was great!! Nothing but great things to say about him and the facility!! I am not facing any challenges now. Things have been wonderful!! I am sure Shirley has told you wonderful things as well, I have met Shirley and know her story. If you have any questions at all, dont hesitate to email me personally. [email protected] Kris

HI Kris It's Penny I have booked my surgery with Dr. Kuri for Aug 6th. I am very excited & nervous at the smae time. Did you get your fill & how is that going. I talked to Shirley and I guess she had toot much & had to go back for a reduction. How is the weight loss going.. are you still doing well. I have a few questions about the port. Does it ever get in your way as far as laying on your stomach or bending over? Just something that has been nagging at me. I read somewhere that some one had pain when ever they bent over... Penny
