I realize this was written almost a year ago but I still wanted to comment. My sister-in-law and my daughter-in-law both work for the state. They both would benefit greatly from lap banding but they can't get approved either. My sister-in-law was told by her Dr. that she would not live through gastric bypass-which the insurance company recommended! She is diabetic, is on oxygen and c-pap and very sick. My daughter-in-law can't get approved for any wls but has really high blood pressure. I don't understand how the insurance companies have the right to play with life and death matters. I am scheduled for lap banding on June 3, 2009. My insurance company approved me right away. Yeah Blue Cross Blue Shield!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone, It is time for the annual Bariatric Summit in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It will be held on April 25th at the Scottsbluff Rooms I-II. It will start at 8:30 and go until 1. We have some exciting things going on. We will be having an open forum with Dr. Glen Forney and Dr. Melissa Stade. Also there will be freebies and lunch is included. I have really enjoyed my discussions with you all in the past. I hope all of you are doing well.

We are currently looking to do a new weight loss relationship type programs that we hope you will like.

Does anyone know of any wls (RNY) support groups near or around Aberdeen, Redfield, Miller area. All I can find are in Sioux Falls or Rapid City.
Maybe we should start one in this area????? Anyone interested??

Mine was visiting with the Phyc. about why I wanted WLS etc. Then I had to fill out a long written questionaire. Piece of cake. Just be honest. the results were then given to my primary Dr.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what the Psych Eval is like?
I'm going to be meeting with the DR here soon and was curious as to
what the session entails.
