Topic: RE: Waiting and Hoping
Hey Kari,
Yes, the waiting is the worst part. I did call my insurance company every few days to check on the status...sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't...but hang in there. When I found out I was approved...I was excited and anxious at the same time, but honestly this is the best thing I have ever done for myself...yes, I have had a few complications, but on the most part I FEEL GREAT! Dr. Glatt was my surgeon and he is great!!! God Bless You and I hope you hear soon...keep us posted!!

Kari, This is the hardest part...the waiting. Dr. Glatt was my surgeon and I think he is wonderful! Ask his office to let you know when the request is sent off to your insurance company, give it about 2 weeks and then start calling your insurance company to find out the status of your request. Topic: RE: South Dakota Check In
Hi Becky and the rest of you South Dakotans!
I had RNY (lap) on July 17, 2006.
My big question is: Will I be able to keep the weight off?
I have lost 100 lbs.
I attend a support group in Rapid City. We meet the first Tuesday of each month. This is a new group and the March 6th meeting will be our second meeting. The first meeting was great and all of the people attending were a lot of fun. If anyone is interested in this support group, please email me! Kathryn

You definately need to look at a support group. It has been the best thing for me and I too have trouble with free time. Between teaching, getting my masters, being mother, wife and grandmother, as well as active in church, SFEA, Reading assoc., and PTA, I have little time, but this is ONE thing I do for myself. Please, please, take time to go to a support group. If you are close to sioux falls, we meet once a month (third Monday) at 7 at Sanford Hospital(SVH). Call if you have questions....I'll pm you my phone.

Hi there! Thought this was an interesting way to get people talking and it looks like it is working! I will be twelve weeks out this Tuesday and I am down 57lbs. Tomorrow is weigh in day so we will see how that goes!
I had Gastric Bypass December 5 2006.
My question is..how many of you had plastic surgery after the weight loss?
Right now the thing that is going great for me is that I can actually keep food down now and excercising it going great....I find it very calming.
I am struggling with what others think about me and the fact that I had the surgery..I don't know why..but I am..
I do not attend a support group...I would like to, however in my line of work, free time is very rare.
Topic: Waiting and Hoping
I am waiting to hear from insurance company if I will be able to have surgery. Dr. Glatt will be my surgeon for what we hope will be RNY lap. I had my MMPI eval on 2/19/07 so I know that the waiting has just started. Any ideas to help this waiting seem to go faster??? I know a few weeks more shouldn't seem bad considering just what the rest of my life will be...
