Nancy, Sanford Hospital (Sioux Valley) has an informational meeting every third Monday at 6:30 and then a support meeting at 7:00. PLEASE come and check it out. My surgeon is Dr. Graham. I chose to go with him, after initially wanting the lapband. After lots of research, I found this to be a better choice for me - and Dr. Graham to be my best choice. Do the research, make an informed choice - but you are right...the months you lose, could be losing months. I am 10 months out and about 145 lbs lighter. I got a date...May 23rd with pre-op visit on May 15th. It seems like a long wait but this is just a short one beings I have been overweight for years...

YIPPIE!!!! Way to go -----glad to hear that you got approved. I'm still waiting..The insurance bcbs needed more information. Sure hope that they are satisfied so I move forward...Seems to be pretty stressful...
