Hello Leigh... I had open on Sept 30th. Just about back to "normal". My advice to you is bring chap stick to the hospital. You'll need it!!! I've lost 26 lbs in 5 weeks. I find it really hard to eat all I need to right now. Stock up on tuna, hard cheese, string cheese, chicken ect. I'm soooo sick of jello & pudding, I'll never eat either again. Stay away from sweets. I haven't dumped yet, don't want to either. Your life will be all about sipping water & walk walk walk. I find the colder things are the easier it is to sip away. I've been though a lot of ice cubes. Crystal lite tea is really good. Also I slept in a recliner for almost 2 weeks. That was due to having 51 staples in my incision!!!! You hang in there, it will be all over before you know it. Then you too will "be on the other side".

Topic: Does anyone ever post messages on here?
I was just wondering if anyone posts messages on here more than once every week? I need some words of encouragement as my surgery date of November 24th nears closer and closer...if you have any, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Leigh

I recently scheduled my surgery date for November 24th, 2003. I will be having the laparoscopic roux-en-Y gastric bypass done and I am very nervous, but also very excited to begin my new life! If you have any words of wisdom at all for me, I would really appreciate it!
Topic: Weight Loss Surgery Group
I have created a new place online for weight loss surgery support. I am going to have this surgery in 2004. So I wanted to start this group for us. It is free and I hope you visit. The web site is:

Topic: Emoticons instructions from ObesityHelp.com
How to use emoticons in your posts:
When you are posting a new message, notice the blue box called "message emoticons". Click on the down-arrow in that box. You will see a drop-down box with characters on the left and the resulting images on the right. Type the characters on the left into your message. When this message is posted the characters will be replaced by the corresponding image. So, for example, for an angel graphic () you would type "".
We are taking steps now to make this an easier process... so look for enhancements soon.
Topic: RE: Surgery Date
Wendy, Thank you so very much for the email at the hospital. That email was so unexpected, it made my whole day!! Things are going good for me. I got the staples out today (found out I am allergic to them). I've lost 21 lbs in two weeks & am feeling ok..... You hang in there, I'm hoping things went well for you too!!!!! Thanks again
