Had my baby in March, now I'm back!
Well, some of you might remember me, I was totally into this obesity research last summer. I had a consult with Dr. Obrien, have decided on LapBand, then bam........found out I was preggo. Well, we now have a bouncing baby boy, and he is wonderful. My oldest daughter will turn 4 in a few days, second daughter turned 2 in June and baby is 4 1/2 months old. I am a teacher and had to go back and finish the year in late April, I teach special ed, so I also taught "summer school" until the middle of July, so now I've had a few weeks off, and school is ready to start again..........Anyway, background in check! Now, back to looking in the mirror and hating everything, feeling totally uncomfortable with who I've become and can't honestly answer my 4 yr. old's questions about "why are you fat mommy?"...............I am ready to get back on the journey to the lap band, but I am sooo scared all over again. So what do you think I should do first?? Will I have to start all over again, or just call up Dr. O'Brien's office and see if I can proceed where we left off. I had given the dr. my husband's letter, do you think he will have to write another? I really just want to get this going and get approved as soon as possible! Any advice?? Emily
Emily,
Definitely contact Dr OBrien's office and they can guide you to the next steps.
Hopefully, you can start where you left off and the process will go quickly.
Also, if you haven't been ther, join us for group at Sanford on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7pm. The support there is amazing and some of the others may be able to assist you.

Hello Emily, welcome back I had an open Rny with Dr O'brien in nov of 07. I have lost over 100lbs in less then 7 months. I got off all my meds and can walk around and not get out of breath. I told you all that to encourage you to call and talk with his staff get in to see him and have Jodi get your insurance to approve your surgury. it is all worth it. I see him next week for my 9 month check a little early but I live a ways and well this is when I could get there. but good luck and keep us posted to when your having surg. take care and good luck
