DakotaCare State Employee

I am a state employee and have DakotaCare.  I have been completing the year long requirement prior to surgery.  Has anyone out there done the year program and been approved?  I am afraid I will have not done enough to get approved. 

good luck!  i did the  required one year and they said I did not work hard enough.  I never did get approved from them.  I just got approved from a new insurance company.  Good luck.

May I ask what they said you didn't do enough of.  Did you log every week and exercise?  I will be so upset if I did all this for nothing.  Who did you work with at HCMT? 

I realize this was written almost a year ago but I still wanted to comment.  My sister-in-law and my daughter-in-law both work for the state.  They both would benefit greatly from lap banding but they can't  get approved either.  My sister-in-law was told by her Dr. that she would not live through gastric bypass-which the insurance company recommended!  She is diabetic, is on oxygen and c-pap and very sick.  My daughter-in-law can't get approved for any wls but has really high blood pressure.  I don't understand how the insurance companies have the right to play with life and death matters.  I am scheduled for lap banding on June 3, 2009.  My insurance company approved me right away.  Yeah Blue Cross Blue Shield!!!!!!!!!!!!
