Waiting and Hoping

I am waiting to hear from insurance company if I will be able to have surgery. Dr. Glatt will be my surgeon for what we hope will be RNY lap. I had my MMPI eval on 2/19/07 so I know that the waiting has just started. Any ideas to help this waiting seem to go faster??? I know a few weeks more shouldn't seem bad considering just what the rest of my life will be...

Kari, This is the hardest part...the waiting. Dr. Glatt was my surgeon and I think he is wonderful! Ask his office to let you know when the request is sent off to your insurance company, give it about 2 weeks and then start calling your insurance company to find out the status of your request. Hey Kari, Yes, the waiting is the worst part. I did call my insurance company every few days to check on the status...sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't...but hang in there. When I found out I was approved...I was excited and anxious at the same time, but honestly this is the best thing I have ever done for myself...yes, I have had a few complications, but on the most part I FEEL GREAT! Dr. Glatt was my surgeon and he is great!!! God Bless You and I hope you hear soon...keep us posted!! Becki
