Info Please

I am having Lap Band surgery Feb 1. I have a day care in my home. I am wondering if I am being unrealistic going back to work 4 days after surgery? My husband and or sister will be there at all times for lifting, cooking and helping I will basically be the supervisor. I did take off any children under 2 years that week as well. Kristie

kristie I had the lap band in 2003. I was out of the hospital the next day feeling just fine. I could have gone home the same day if they would have let me. I think you will be just fine as long as you have someone there to help you out a bit. Good luck to you on your surgery. CA

Hi there- I had open RNY on Jan 3rd. It went great!! I was feeling super in less than a week!! I went back to work at a daycare after only taking 2 weeks off!! I just don't lift the kids!! Otherwise- all is great!! Sheri

Hi Kristi, it sounds like you may be pushing it doing day care 4 days after surgery. Everyone recovers from surgery differently. You will get tired easily the first couple of days. Where are you having your surgery? I had mine in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Good luck on your surgery day. Mona

I had my surgery in Sioux Falls, SD my surgeon was Dr OBrien he did a great job and I am doing well!! My husband and or sister will be there to help me with lifting and cooking. I am feeling really good and I asked my DC parents if they would mind if I rested when needed if someone else was here to watch the kids they all said it was fine!!! Thank you for your response. Hi Kristi, I am doing great. I just celebrated my 5 year bandiversary. I have lost 110 pounds and have kept it off 3 years. I have heard very good things about Dr. OBrien.Good luck. Mona
