Good morning nc
Hi Linda P. ,
I'm Joyce Stewart - I'm on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I've been a diabetic since 1987. I turn 56 this August. I'm also 5 1/2 months post op.
So far I've shed 88 lbs and have between 70 to 100 more to lose. I lost the diabetes pills when I had the surgery and haven't had them since but I am still on Insulin - it got changed too. I'd been taking Novolin N & R twice a day - about 100 to 110 units combined each time. Now I take Lantus @ 9 pm every night between 40 & 36 units and use Novolog with meals - anywhere from 14 to 10 units depending on my activities and what my meals consist of.
Wanna get to be part of a great group of gals(online) our age? I'm talking about a forum here on OH called Over Fifty Forum also referred to as OFF. They are such a nice bunch of people, just like us with a wide variety of lifestyles and interests etc... but they're always supportive and kind and quite funny too. They run the gamut of pre op to very long post op and every stage in between.,,, go back to the forums page - bottom right of the lists, click it open - you'll see - Over 50 - thats the place ! Come on over !

Hi Brianna,
So far I haven't done much of anything....it's been crappy weather!!
Went to a promotional party last night with some of the officers I dispatch, but was back home by 10pm...LOL....I'm such a party animal NOT!!!
I'm trying to get back into a workout routine since I finally have "time" on my hands. Could use a kick in the butt!!!
How are things going with you? Any news?
