Waiting.. anxious

Well I had my doctors appt last wednesday. All went really good until he told me that Wellmark Ins. currently doesn't cover Lap Band surgery. That is the surgery that I prefer. He said that is changing, but it may be a few weeks before they know anything. Currently they are just putting names on a list and when Wellmark changes its policy they will let us know. I feel like my life has been on hold for the last 15 years I don't want to wait any longer... GRR.. but i will be paitent because I believe that is the best decision for me..

Hey Melanie, Good luck with getting approval. I also have Wellmark and I do know that they do not approve the lap band. I have Laproscopic RNY and I am 6 1/2 weeks post op. I know it is really invasive, but for me, I didn't see any other way. I feel very fortunate and that God has been with me through this!! I have had no complications and am feeling great. I am -54 pounds and it amazes me everyday!! I had alot more weight to lose than you do, but for me, I felt that the RNY was less of a risk. GOOD LUCK!!! Becki
