Dee, you never know , my insurance paid for my tummy tuck , it did take several months to get it approved but the main thing with my insurance is I had to prove a medical need, ie, rash from the skin over lapping, now I am working on figuring out what medical condition the man boobs, bat wings & sagging thighs cause lol
good luck !

Topic: RE: outpatient plastics scheduled in 5 days
I had mine done as an outpatient and had no problems with doing it that way. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I can take pain meds, and my own blood pressure ,if needed, because that's about all they will do in the hospital and charge you a small fortune for it, lol. My PS called me that night to check on me and then again the next morning, which is about all they will do in the hospital too. You will do fine, just follow the doctors instructions, take your pain meds and muscle relaxants, wear your body garment, and don't try to over do anything even if you feel like you can. Make sure your protein level is good and take extra protein in over the next week, it really helps you heal. I didn't have the thighs done, just the belt lipectomy and breast lift. The thighs take longer to heal from what I have heard and I didn't want a scar running down my legs that I wouldnt be able to cover up, so I chose not to do it and live with my wrinkled legs, lol. I was out of work for 4 weeks, but I have a strenuous job, so it might be shorter if you sit behind a desk and don't have to strain yourself. I wouldn't ru****!
Good luck and take care!

Topic: RE: Approved! Now I'm scared!
As long as he is able to do a lap procedure the recovery time is pretty quick. If he has to do the other sometimesit is not as quick. I have an active job and they did not want me back to wor****il the drain was out so I was out 2 1/2 weeks.
I agree with the others the more movement you can do the better you are.
It is totally normal to be scared, but it will be the best gift you can give it to your children....years and years of good health for yourself.

Just hang on, this is only a bump in the road. You have come so far. I hate being on steroids it always makes me a bottomless pit and hungry as well. So keep pushing the fluids and as you know the fluid will be easier to deal with.

Topic: outpatient plastics scheduled in 5 days
I haven't posted in a long, long time, but I need some support! I am having my first round of plastics in 5 days, and I'm really nervous. I'm having circumferential abdominoplasty (belt and tummy tuck) and medial thigh lift. I'm a little concerned about it being an outpatient procedure. Have any of you gone through this outpatient? Any general advice for the recovery period from either of these surgeries? I sure would appreciate any advice.
Thanks, all!

So sorry to hear about your ER visit. I also have asthma and the pollen this year is bad. I tell everyone that I am the steriod queen, it seems that as soon as I come off them I get an attack and back on them. So I know what you are feeling. Best of luck to you and hope you are feeling better today.
