Hello, I have BlueChoice of SC with the state and they don't cover the Lapband. I'm having to appeal and fight right now with my empoyer and insurance company to get this over turned. NO luck yet.....

LOL   well I have to chuckle a little, not at you but you brought back old memories..... I started out at about 600. lbs and I gotta say I remember kinda thinking the same way. A week after my surgery lost about 12 lbs,,,, then 3 weeks out was 24 I was thinking oh **** but then once my body said oh well lets do this ..... a year out I had already lost 300 lbs ... I lost a little after that and gained a little after that... I am happy where I am but would like to loose 50 more..... lol see you wont stop thinking about food ,,,,,ever..... The tips I can tell you ....Pray for dumping.... but dont push the envelope... also you have the next 18 - 24 months to work it... so shake it like a salt shaker and make it work for you.... I was in a size 74 -76 pants wore them till I was a size 60 lol yea i looked awful but    i knew it was working... today I still have those pants..... today I am in 42  guess what it worked ... Use it as a tool dont be scared ,,,, just learn how to tame it.... it works if you make it.....feel free to ramble  gotta admit I ramble talk and answer myself...... oh yea one more thing.... close your eyes and smile .... every day just once, give yourself a hug and dream my friend we are here.... hug ron

I had BC/BS of NC , but it all depends on what exclusions your employer put on the insurance. Some people will have the same insurance company but the coverage will be different if your employer is a tightwad and doesn't want certain things allowed. So best bet is to  get your insurance info and call them and ask about it. Good luck! Mary

You look fantastic, tan or no tan, thigh lift or not!  Enjoy your freedom this summer!  I am a few days out from my plastics --- including the dreaded thigh lift -- but there is no way I could wear any kind of bathing suit without it.  I am fortunate that insurance is covering that procedure.  If you're interested, I'll let you know how things go with me in case you decide to get brave later on.    But isn't it nice to know you don't have to???  You look great without it!! Hi Jen, I wasn't scared at that point as much as being excited.  I will tell you that sometimes now I do get scared though, and I am almost 2 years out!  Just make sure you are measuring, measuring, measuring, and only eat what the doc tells you to.  If you stick to that, you won't be able to help but lose weight.  Don't forget that your absorption is affected as well. One thing to note -- don't wait to wal****il you get the staples out.  Walk as much as you can as early as you can. Give yourself time.  Take pictures on a regular basis so you can see the progress you're making.  The day will come, as it did with me, when you see a picture of yourself and don't realize it's you.   Or you'll look back at the pics from the beginning and wonder how that was ever you. Take care, Marce

Hey, Kimmy!  Thank you so much for writing!  First of all, let me say that you look amazing!  I hope I look half as good afterwards!  Congrats on your healing so well. I appreciate your advice so much!  I will write with some further questions I have. I am seeing Drs. Fowler and Wallace.   I haven't seen much about the two of them posted here, but I feel quite comfortable with Dr. Fowler.  I haven't yet met Dr. Wallace, who will be assisting with my surgery.  Have any of you all used either of them? I will let you all know how I am getting along next week.  Thanks so much again!  Marce

I'm 1 week out( yesterday) from GBP and I have already as of Monday lost 16 lbs but I just feel like Maybe this isn't gonna be the answer. I know it sounds stupid, but I can't even see the 16 lbs I guess that I'm just scared that since I have started the full liquid diet( oatmeal, cream of wheat, mashed potatoes) that this diet is gonna drastically slow down. Did anyone else feel this way? I'm really looking forward to getting my staples removed Monday and getting to start walking again. I guess I contribute the first part to surgery and being so sick( n/v) afterwards,  but I'm starting to feel normal again and I'm worried that maybe this won't work. Sorry for rambling! Thanks!

I just wanted to say hello, and let you know that Dr. Strickland did my surgery(GPB) last week (4/29) and I had nothing but a wonderful experience with him. I was wondering what is LBL? If you have any specific questions I'll be glad to answer them. Best of luck.
