Hi everyone, I had my surgery last Tuesday and overall I'm doing pretty good.  I also had to have what I thought was a medium -large hiatal hernia repair.  Turns out it was a giant hernia and Dr. Bour had to pull 1/2 of my stomach out of my diaphram.  I've had some chest pain from that, but otherwise am feeling pretty good.  Just really glad to be on the losing side now.  Thanks for all of your support and I guess I'll be able to meet some of you post-opers now in the support groups.   Melissa

I totally understand about the energy thing.  I didn't have much trouble at all from my surgery.  My problem was that I felt like I could get back to normal.  I walked for about a mile in the neighborhood when I was 1 week post-op.  I made it, but I was totally washed out for the rest of the day.  I learned that there was a lot of things I wanted to do, but I had to wait a little for my stamina to come back.  Remember, you just had major surgery, your body is still in shock.  Give it a little more time.  I just walked over a mile and ha half on the treadmill today and felt fine.

Thanks everyone :) I had a really bad day yesterday I felt like I didn't even have the energy to get up. Today is slightly better I have forced myself out of bed and I walked 10 minutes on the Treadmill. I still feel so so weak though and I really hate feeling like I have lost all of my energy, I can deal with the pain I just want my energy back :(
