Conrats on the wedding.  I hope he is good to you, you deserve it.  Glad to see you finally got to go on a cruise, what a great way. Let me know when the group starts back up.  I am going to see Dr. Byrne tomm for a meet and greet.  I have not seen him for over a year, want to put a face with a name.  Is that dumb?  I have been busy stocking my kitchen, and buying some cheap stretchy clothes.  Thanks to everyone for the positive thoughts.  JoAnn

First let me say that is is so  normal to have a melt down right before surgery.  You are nervous to start with and then with people saying negative things it only gets worse.  PLEASE don't let anyone else deter you.  I didn't tell very many people before my surgery.  My ex didn't want me to do it...I think he was afraid I wouldn't be submissive anymore...and he was right.  That would be why he is my ex and I have found the love of my life.  My 4 sisters were so supportive and were actually the ones who talked me into the surgery after my Mom passed away.  We all saw how hard it is when you are overweight and sick and I knew I had to do someting.  My grown kids were iffy, but they have supported me in the end once they say how well I was doing.  Best advice, don't talk to the negative people about it....and tell them you don't want to hear the negative if they can't say positive don't say anything at all.  Better yet, it is your mom-in-law, have your husband tell her and your sis-in-laws not to say anything if they can't say positive. Long and short...hang in there, you won't be sorry.  I don't know anyone who was sorry they had this surgery ... yes, it was hard, but isn't everything worth doing!!!! I wish I could offer to stay with your hubby during surgery.  Unfortunately I have missed way too much work after my plastics because of infection (I ended up being off almost 8 weeks when it was supposed to be 2 weeks off) and then went on my cruise and got married...so I have missed my maximum amount for quite awhile! Hey you all.  I know I've been missing in action for sometime now...lets do an update for all of my peeps that I miss so dearly. All last year I had said that if Trent and I had no plans to get married by the end of the year, I was moving on.  After all, it has only been 14 years. So the end of the year comes and goes and we were no closer to get married.  We started house hunting and I thought that ment something.  It did, another house payment.  I Love Trent and as much as it hurt, I ask him to move out.  He did this in Feb.  So for several months it was bad.  I mean how do you walk away from someone you Love so dearly, for what seems like no good reason at all...but to me my reason of 14 years was plenty. So after a few months we both were going to counceling.  I had started to talk to a new man.  As you can guess, Trent didn't take too well to that.  I have never stopped Loving Trent, I just got to the point of what does love have to do with it. After a few months of him living in this big new house alone, we started to talk about the future. About 4 weeks ago he took me on this romantic scavenger hunt, which ended up at the battery at sunset, with him on one knee in the gazibo, asking me to marry him. Now all of you that know Trent, know he is a great man, he is also so thoughtful and romantic. After thinking about it for about....10 secounds, I accepted. Now there is a wedding scheduled for June 14, 2008 at Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville, @ 7pm. The first part of this year was so bad, but I ment that I was not settling in life anymore.  I also knew that 2008 was going to be great, one way or the other.   After Trent moved out I had regressed inside of my turtle shell and have not been on this computer, made or accepted many phone calls or been very social.  Now life is getting so much better. On another note, Susan's mom is staying with her now.  She has been there for about a month.  I doubt that she lives more than another day or two.  Susan is such a dedicated daughter and friend.  I hope she takes care of me when I get old.  If any of you get a chance, please drop her a call.
