I am glad your melt down is better. Hang in there, it will over before you know it and we will be welcoming you to the loser's bench. As for the hospital, I don't have any special recommendations other than the usual personal items. Good luck and have hubby call me so I can post on the Board how you are doing. Cell no. is 442-4188.

I can go the distance... I do not care how far... I know every mile will be worth my while.
My goal in life is to be as good of a person as my DOGS already think I am!

I know one little thing that not everybody thinks about prior to WLS is a "back scratcher". After surgery, you'll have tubes and stuff and your stomach will be sore. The back scratcher helps you reach places that you need to scratch without much discomfort. It also helps you bring things into reach. You can to to the "Dollar Store (where everythings $1) and find them there. Good Luck.

I wanted to thank everyone for their great vibes. Saw Dr. Byrne today for my pre-op. Staff was very confused, because I have already done my gall bladder U/S and labs etc. I have not seen Dr Byrne since last year in June, so I wanted to make sure he knows the face with the name. Anyway, he was real helpful and needed some reassurance from him. Wed will be here soon. My blood pressure is up because of my anxiety. I am trying to stay positive and remember why I am doing this. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions as far as what to pack for the hospital stay. I know the basics, but anything else you could have used or had your family bring up?
Thanks
103 pounds gone!!!! Yeah for me

Topic: RE: pureed stage
Dont forget to drink, your fluids are important so you dont get dehydrated. You can use your liquid protein drinks to help keep your protein up when you can not tolerate the pureed (I had trouble with the texture as well). Here are a few things I was able to tolerate during that stage: sugar free puddings, mashed potatoes with chicken broth mixed in ( I mashed the potatoes up using skim milk and chicken broth for flavor and protein), i would get a piece of turkey and chew until it was mush (if you swallow before mu**** is not a good outcome), and i made chicken/veggie cassarole and then blended it...the taste was good. Baby food has no flavoring, spices and was to bland for me. Also I had a hardboiled egg...and mushed it up.
Keep trying we all tolerate things differently. Hang in there it does get better.
