Yes JoAnn, it is normal.  It is wonderful  not to feel hungry or care about eating...I wish I could go back there.  Take it slow, you are doing great!

Topic: Feeling full
Howdy everyone, 11 days post op-I have a question as to feeling full.  I still have no concept of feeling hungry, full, satisfied, really kind of a nothing feeling.  I have been trying to smoothies and will drink what I think my stomach can hold but I do not get any kind of feeling.  Maybe my stomach has not woken up yet-I tried some mashed potatoes the other day-and I did get a pain under my rib cage so I stopped, they were probably not thin enough.  So far scrambled egg beaters, with a little cheese melted in. Even those I am careful to only try small pieces and chew up.  Let me know if this sounds familar.  I know I have to be patient, I am glad I do not feel hungry.  JoAnn

Topic: Solid Foods-Stage 1??
I am currently at the pureed foods stage and I am having a really hard time with it.  The consistency of the pureed foods make me gag.  On Tuesday, I get to go to the first stage of solid foods.  Can anyone tell me what kinds of foods will be added at this stage?  Thanks,  Melissa

Hey Tanya,     Thanks for asking.  I posted an update below so I won't retype but things are better.  I agree, we all need to get together soon.  I'm thinking about some sort of support meeting for people who have gained a little (I've got to get off 6 to 10 pounds), but you don't need that so we'll just have to have a party soon.     Take care        mary

Topic: Got my 1st surgeon's visit
I'm so excited.  I called the doc's office to see if they got my psych eval results and if so if I could schedule my appointment.  The nurse said they normally would wait until they received them but since their next appointment isn't until early next month she would go ahead an schedule me.  My first surgeon's appointment is on July 11th.  I can't until that day.  She gave me a warning that the doc may want me to lose some weight but I already knew that anyways.  I'm still trying to lose weight while I'm going through this process.  It's nice to finally get to meet the surgeon and get a little closer to being banded!

Rest up as much as you can.  It's probably your body's telling you it needs some rest so it can heal up nicely for you.  I hope everything else is going good for you so far.

JoAnn, hon, let your body be your guide & listen to it carefully!  If it says sleep - then sleep.  Keep fluids nearby & when you even crack an eyelid, take a sip.  Keep sleeping & sipping - everyone will tell you what a major change your body's gone thru & it's true!  It will take a while to get back on your feet and feeling even 75%.  But it will be worth it in the long run!  Follow Dr. B's instructions & ask questions.  You have a fantastic support group behind you & if you need us - just ask! Sip - Sleep - Sip - Sleep (your mantra...)  Hellen
