Topic: Congratulations are in order! MISS DEB/MR TRENT! :)
Hello all,  .  This weekend marked the beautiful joining of Debbie and Trent.    There are not too many people in this life that give love as openly and kindly as they do.     I learned a LOT from my time with both of them and I truly feel that they helped me on my journey in more ways then i could ever express.   I hope you had the BEST ceremony and the BEST cook out on Sunday at Susans (my short lived home!!) I would have DEF been there if my nephew had not been graduating this weekend.   I have had the great fortune of keeping in touch with both Susan and Deb over the past several months.    And one of my dearest friends, Esther,  has moved on to GA and she really needs all of your prayers right now. AGAIN...  CONGRATULATIONS TO DEB AND TRENT.   BLESS YOUR HEARTS AND SOULS.  I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW> Hugs and friendship, Jill

Thank you Teresa,  it's great to know I will be able to chew something.  I've been living off of cottage cheese and yogurt since we started pureed foods because the texture of meat and vegetables pureed just makes me sick.  It reminds me of dog food! LOL.

I had surgery 3/4/08. I 've started losing my hair too. I have always "shed" this time of the year. But it is alot worse this time. I do have alot of hair so maybe it won't be too noticeable. I have really Long hair. It's down to the bottom of my butt. I was trying to wait till I got to my goal weight and have a complete makeover. As long as it doesn't get too thin I'm still gonna stick with my plan. I've got little over 60 lbs. to go. So we will see which comes first. I've heard this is normal so I'm not gonna freak out or anything. We will take it one day at a time. Teresa M.

I started losing my hair last month and when I say losing I mean losing!!  I am scared to bru****!  I do get my protien in at least 5 of the 7 days a week.  Some days I am a little slacker than others.  From the reading I have done on this subject it will slack off after a while and I am thanking the good Lord that I have alot of hair and am able to give some up without notice to anyone else.  I am just trying to make it through this point and am hoping that it will soon stop.  Good luck to you and hope that everythings goes well for you.

Welcome to the hair loss club. Any time you lose a large amount of weight fast, you also risk losing your hair. It could be your not getting enough protein or vitamins, but, I still lost some hair even though I was able to get plenty of protein and vitamins in. Mine has grown back for the most part, it's still a little thin on top, but better than last year. I also added additional biotin which I think helped also. Good luck! Mary

Hi Melissa. It's alot easier than the pureed. You will have 5 meals instead of 6. You will be trying to eat 4 oz. of food. You will be having protein : meats. Please take small bites and chew, chew, chew. Believe me you don't want it to get stuck. I ate alot of can ham and chicken at first because it was moist. Like the hormel canned ham was really good. You will have veggies... cooked not raw. Fruits with no skins or peelings. Canned fruits are ok as long as they are no sugar added or packed in its own juice. Also you will be allowed starches....2 oz. a day. The best thing to do is eat your 2oz. of protein first then try one ounce or 2 of veggies or fruit or starch. They will give you a complete list of your foods for each group. It get easier as time goes on. I had to make myself learn to eat slow. After a few days of thing coming back up I learned real quick to put my fork down between bites. Good Luck . It does get better. Teresa M. I've lost 95 lbs total. That's before and after surgery

I currently live in North.  I moved here in 1998 after living in Orangeburg for one year.  I'm not sure how long it's been since you lived here, but I doubt if it  has changed much. Shelia
